Beating the, uh, deadline

This may be one of the only times you see me link to the New York Post, but this story is just too, er, punny.

In case you weren't aware, the obituary for Bob Hope that was published in the New York Times was written by Vincent Canby.

Canby died in 2000.

We all want to give our colleagues - and fellow working stiffs - their due, but isn't the practice a little unusual?

Usually when an editor sends someone to the morgue, he means the area where long-ago clippings are stored.

There's more. Go. Laugh. You've earned it. :)
