...and what planet do YOU live on?

In his letter of resignation, John Ashcroft offers yet another reminder of the non-reality-based world many of the neocons are living in:

"The objective of securing the safety of Americans from crime and terror has been achieved."

This from a man who - despite allegedly having made terrorism his primary focus since 9/11/2001 (after removing it from the priority list when he first took office) - has yet to achieve even one terrorist conviction, and who notice - much less investigate or prosecute - any number of illegal acts by our current administration.

Sure, we've been secured from crime and terror. In their little fantasy world, perhaps. But not in the real one.
